Roles & Responsibilities

**Responsibilities**

1. Assist and co-ordinate with SNM /NM in handling NUD Issues / Residents’ and family members enquires.

2. Maintain accurate documentation of care as required by the Company’s quality procedures, guidelines, standard operating procedures and policy.

3. Participate in orientation and in-service education programmes and supervise the care under his / her charge as required.

4. Participate in any and all activities related to the smooth running of ward / unit.

5. Identify competent Staff Nurse In-Charge / Level Supervisor / Staff in accordance to their job performance.

**Areas of Accountability**
**1.**Resident Care**

1.1 Accountable for nursing care given ensures that personal practice and that of staff under supervision meets standards of practice.

1.2 Maintain accurate documentation of resident care based on knowledge of the nursing process and related incidents.

1.3 Ensure that the delivery of nursing care meets the resident’s specific needs, privacy and confidentiality.

1.4 Update relevant internal personnel, external medical facility / institution and family members on resident conditions as and when required.

1.5 Participate in review of processes which monitor care provision to residents.

1.6 Assist doctors and nursing staff during treatments and examinations of residents.

**2.**Administrative & Management Practice**

2.1 Ensure that all documentation in relation to all aspects of resident care management is accurately maintained (including investigation, analysis and reporting on incident reports).

2.2 Supervise the staff under his / her charge in the delivery of quality residents' centered care, provide feedback to SNM / NM and document such information where necessary.

2.3 Demonstrate good understanding of all nursing home procedures, guidelines, standard operating procedures and policies.

2.4 Proficient in identifying root cause analysis for continual improvement.

2.5 Observe, Counsel and Report repeated issues/behavior misfit supported by documented evidence, such as the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), Internal Corrective Action Request (ICAR) to the SNM / NM.

2.6 Audit and Check that all documentations (including investigation, analysis and reporting on incident report) are duly completed and filed.

**3.**Staff Development / Education**

3.1 Assist the SNM / NM to submit monthly Training Assessments / Nominations for staff under his / her charge for evaluation.

3.2 Attend appropriate education programmes for further self-development.

3.3 Participate in ongoing and in-service educational activities.

3.4 Participate in continuous improvement project (CIP).

**4. Occupational Health and Safety**

4.1 Maintain safe work practices and ensure a safe working environment which meets required standards.

4.2 Familiar with all aspects of the nursing home emergency and evacuation procedures and guidelines.

**5. Quality Assurance**

5.1 Participate in departmental quality procedures and guidelines and policy reviews when required

5.2 Ensure compliance to the Company’s quality procedures, guidelines and policy. Monitor and report on non-compliance and implement necessary changes resulting from quality assurance findings in consultation with the SNM / NM.
