The role is responsible for planning and monitoring daily construction activities as per method statements; achieving daily production targets through direct / sub contracted staff; updating daily diaries & time sheets in an accurate and timely manner; driving adherence to quality protocols and HSE guidelines with the objective of implementing all project activities in a safe and timely manner in accordance with LAIO quality standards.

**Project Execution
- Understand and implement the method statements and drawings; Provide inputs to engineers and supervisor on improving the method statements and/or design; Plan for meeting assigned daily production targets set by Superintendent
- Translate targets to direct/sub-contractor staff in terms of timelines and quality of deliverables in line with safety guidelines
- Organize work area and estimate and coordinate logistic requirements for each task; Secure approval for procurement of equipment in timely manner
- Supervise works to prevent wastage, keep track of materials, maintain in-& out records; Minimize wastage of any material
- Assist and conduct Site inspection, test and measurement with RTO.
- Conduct daily site meetings with subcontractor staff, analyze issues and identify areas for improvement
- To maintain proper records on site (Drawings, permits, technical reports, Site dairy etc).
- Resolve issues faced by team (workers/ equipment related) and raise escalations to Superintendent/Engineer as needed
- Clarify technical query in doubt with site engineer and project engineer before executing.
- Perform shotcrete spraying, rock drilling, rock bolting, pre-excavation grouting and other activities associated with mined tunnels when required.
- Operate machinery and carry out necessary regular maintenance.
- Guide the construction team to carry out the works according to the method statements, LCAL safety standards and contract requirements.
- Manage the rental and utilization and maintenance of the required equipment.
- Procure required material and establish logistic plan to ensure adequate material on site;
- Interface coordination with shaft and main tunnel construction activity;
- Ensure the work quality achieve the contract specification and drawing requirement;
- Contingency measure for underground ingress control;
- Ensure the proper deployment of resources and control of material Wastages.
- Operate machinery such as Shotcrete pump, drill rigs etc
- Any other adhoc tasks assigned by the company or head of the department.
- Perform the duties of Shotcrete Nozzleman when required.
- Perform shift duties when and where required.

**Health, safety & environment (HSE) management
- Understand & comply with the HSE requirements based on LAIO internal framework, local regulations and contractual obligations
- Communicate the same to subordinates and subcontractors, and monitor compliance on an on-going basis
- Attend toolbox meetings and be a role model to promote workplace safety by keeping a clean, neat and tidy workplace at all times and operating the machinery in accordance to the operating manual
- Identify risks and mitigation measures for safe execution of activities; ensure adherence of safe work practices by self and workmen during implementation
- Maintain a clean & tidy worksite during execution and make provisions so that safety standards are met; Conform to the LAIO safety requirements in all activities
- Assist investigations in accidents/ incidents to discover the root cause and prevent from re-occurrence.
- Risk Assessment and safety installation in accordance with Local regulation and site-specific requirements
