Job Description

Offshore Mobile Lab Superintendent will be a qualified and experienced Geotechnical Lab technician / Engineer with a detailed operational and maintenance knowledge of offshore geotechnical labs. He has practical and theoretical background for seabed light-geotechnical site investigation, and specifically the wide range of laboratory technical equipment & resources used to conduct such operations.- The main role is to oversee the operation and maintenance of offshore laboratory containers permanently fixed on dedicated geotechnical drilling vessels, as well as mobile offshore laboratories that can be mobilised to third party geotechnical vessels.- He shall also be responsible to manage the spares & consumable inventory including periodic reordering as required for the projects.- He shall manage the company internal owned technical asset inventory of spares, equipment, and consumables for offshore geotechnical labs, along with any third-party external hired equipment needed to support the offshore projects.- He also needs to ensure that all 3rd party rental or purchased equipment is vetted prior on hire / purchase to ensure reliability during project phase.- He shall directly supervise the internal / external manpower (including contractors) responsible for maintaining, servicing, and calibrating the Lab’s technical equipment.- He shall be responsible to organise necessary 3rd Party contractors for supporting the equipment maintenance in the warehouse / workshops.- He shall coordinate with Equipment Resource Manager, Project Managers, Procurement on long-term offshore lab’s resourcing strategies, and annual CAPEX / OPEX planning for Offshore Lab’s Maintenance and Equipment renewal.- He is to ensure all laboratories operate at the highest levels of safety, technical standards and efficiency, in accordance with company procedures, Health, Safety and Quality policies.- He shall together with Vessel Resource Manager, participate in root cause investigations concerning offshore lab equipment failures which have resulted in downtime.

About You:
- Good standard of general education, including experience in managing geotechnical labs and lab equipment.- 3-8 years relevant experience in managing offshore and mobile laboratory operations in geotechnical or related field.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Ability to plan and prioritise workload based on internal and external requirement.
