**What the role is**
- To plan, coordinate and manage research to drive the development of sustainable urban food solutions focusing on farming vegetables sustainably and safely in the urban environment.
**What you will be working on**
- Conduct R&D in one or more of the areas of breeding, nutrition, health, farming systems and sustainability. Some examples of R&D include seed genetics, crop protection, indoor vertical farming, waste valorisation and climate change impacts. - Identify, evaluate and promote technologies and solutions that will transform the agri-food system - Engage industry and research institutions on collaborative research projects - Conduct test-bedding and technical advisory to farms and stakeholders along the food supply chain - Represent Singapore in international platforms for crops / agriculture matters
**What we are looking for**
- At least a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture/Agriculture, Plant Science, Environmental Biology, Life Science or equivalent - Strong scientific or research background, preferably familiar or have experience in at least two of the following areas - agri-technology, urban agriculture/indoor farming, plant genetics/molecular biology, food safety risk assessment (related to on-farm production) - Good command of written and spoken English - Analytical and systematic approach towards research with good leadership ability - Familiarity with statistical analytical software - Proficiency in MS Office software - Able to work independently as well as in a team and with stakeholders
