**Position description**:
As a Lead Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining Java microservices, developing new features, enhancing existing ones, and ensuring high-quality code through testing and code reviews. You’ll collaborate on requirements gathering, contribute to process improvements, and resolve production issues. Key skills include strong data structures and algorithms, expertise in microservices and RESTful development, and familiarity with SpringBoot, Hibernate, Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. Experience with continuous integration and testing tools like JUnit and Gauge is essential.

**What you’ll be broadly doing**:

- Building and maintaining Java micro services
- Coding, Implementing, Unit Testing and Documenting Java based services
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
- Code reviews and ensuring adherence to software development standards
- Contribute to team and organizational improvements in process and infrastructure
- Participating in requirements gathering and functional specification activities
- Resolving and helping to mitigate production issues

**What you need to be successful**:

- Strong Data Structure and Algorithms
- Experience with micro services architectures
- Experience developing RESTful services
- Experience with continuous integration, unit and integration testing
- Experience with Redis and kafka
- Experience with SpringBoot, Hibernate, JUnit and other Java frameworks
- RDBMS and NoSQL databases - PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Gauge or other BDD frameworks - advantageous
- Fintech experience - advantageous
