Overview:
- The Art Director (AD) with the Agile Newsroom creative team is someone who is both a creative and a leader. The AD engages, inspires and guides the team in conceptualising innovative ideas and integrated creative solutions, alongside accounts, strategy and creative peers. The AD should have an affinity for collaboration — enjoying mentoring and working alongside creatives, and seeking to produce only the best creative work for Ogilvy.
The AD also takes a lead role in leading and executing creative development and strategy, storytelling concepts, and establishing the direction of the overall creative direction for various projects. The AD partners with the Creative Director and other senior team members to craft, build and seal the reputation of the Agile Newsroom as a creative solution unlike any other in the region.
**Responsibilities**:
**Client Management**
- Communicate with both account colleagues and Clients to gain a better understanding of Clients’ needs, before providing effective/efficient creative solutions.
**Strategy**
- Work with planners to develop communication strategies as needed
**Creative**
- Art direct with strong visual ideation and ability to design in a variety of styles for different channels and media.
- Able to visualise, design and craft creative assets with After Effects is preferred.
- Craft compelling and on-brand visuals, as well as effective key visuals, ads, communication peripherals, and moving images — all through a focus on integrated or social lens.
**Creative Leadership**
- Responsible for creative standards of every project assigned, together with assigned copywriter.
- Comprehend communication strategies through creative briefings, and innovate big ideas with copywriters and other creatives.
- Produce design drafts for teams and Clients based on different communication channels.
- Control the cost of production by proposing feasible and reasonable ideas.
- Act as the main force of visual execution and be responsible for quality control.
- Have good communication skills and teamwork skills when working with collaborators.
- Lead in campaign execution, from research, Big Idea to creative deliverables — senior art director to be the creative driver of the work, alongside the assigned copywriter.
- As a “senior student”, help designers become familiar with the qualities of commercial art and enhance their creative thinking and abilities.
- Be passionate about emerging tech knowledge, share helpful information with colleagues, and provide inspiring creative ideas for works.
- Proficiency in mainstream design software, constantly improving one’s skills in order to create new works of motion graphics/digital imaging/graphic design that match or exceed Ogilvy’s standards.
- Responsible for creative and effectiveness recognition at local and international awards competitions and new/existing business growth.
**Leadership & People Management**
- Work alongside the Creative Director in building and moulding the Agile Newsroom team into its best possible iteration.
- Set an example of protecting Ogilvy’s reputation.
- Stay motivated and constantly improve professional skills in creating work.Stay positive, regardless of success or failure.
- Be humble, respect and trust others to create a desirable work environment.
- Take responsibility and keep commitments when facing huge challenges or mistakes.
