COMPANY DESCRIPTION
National Gallery Singapore is a leading visual arts institution which oversees the world's largest public collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art. Situated at the birthplace of modern Singapore, in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is housed in two national monuments - City Hall and former Supreme Court - that have been beautifully restored and transformed into this exciting 64,000 square metre venue. Reflecting Singapore's unique heritage and geographical location, the Gallery aims to be a progressive museum that creates dialogues between the art of Singapore, Southeast Asia and the world to foster and inspire a creative and inclusive society. This is reflected in our collaborative research, education, long-term and special exhibitions, and innovative programming. The Gallery also works with international museums such as Centre Pompidou, Muse d'Orsay, Tate Britain, National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT) and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), to jointly present Southeast Asian art in the global context, positioning Singapore as a key node in the global visual arts scene.
In 2020, the Gallery was the only museum in Southeast Asia that received a ranking in The Art Newspaper's annual global survey of attendance at art museums, taking 20th place. In 2018, the Gallery was also the first museum in Asia to receive the Children in Museums Award by the European Museum Academy and Hands On International Association of Children in Museums. It also won the awards for "Best Theme Attraction" at TTG Travel Awards 2017, "Best Attraction Experience", "Breakthrough Contribution to Tourism" and "Best Customer Service (Attractions)" at the prestigious Singapore Tourism Awards in 2016 for its role in adding to the vibrancy of Singapore's tourism landscape.
We offer job opportunities in our dynamic organisation. Working at the Gallery enhances and cultivates your love for the arts, and offers you a chance to be part of the Gallery's vision.
OUR PEOPLE
At National Gallery Singapore, we develop cultural leaders who make the world better. Our people are united by a shared belief in the power and necessity of art, and work together to create meaningful experiences for our visitors.

This leadership role will focus on building and guiding the strategic backbone of our fundraising programmes, with a particular emphasis on the Capital Campaign, major gifts, family offices, foundations, and grants.
This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in fundraising, business development, or philanthropy strategy—who also thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments. - Develop and implement strategic frameworks, tools and SOPs for donor research, cultivation, and stewardship across all fundraising verticals.
- Lead the strategic planning for the Gallery's Capital Campaign (launching in 2026), including prospect segmentation, donor journey mapping, gift pyramids, and campaign governance.
- Identify and build strategies for new revenue and partnership opportunities, particularly across family offices, philanthropic foundations, and institutional grants.
- Drive research, proposal development, and impact reporting for major donors and grant-making institutions.
- Champion the use of data, CRM systems, and performance metrics to support donor cultivation and campaign success.
Capital Campaign (2026 Launch)
- Shape the vision, structure, and roadmap for the Gallery's multi-year Capital Campaign.
- Lead the planning and development of campaign collateral, including case statements, funding proposals, and donor presentations.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders—including curatorial, programming, and senior management teams—to align fundraising efforts with institutional goals.
- Track and monitor campaign progress against key performance indicators.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a sub-team focused on Family Offices, Foundations, and Grants—including a Senior Manager, Manager, and Assistant Manager.
- Guide team members to deliver high-quality research, donor strategies, proposals, and reporting.
- Build a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the Deputy Director overseeing Corporate and Patron teams to ensure alignment and collaboration across donor verticals.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and partnerships with relevant public agencies, community organisations, and private donors.
- Represent the Gallery at high-level meetings and donor engagements where strategic insight is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy, or strategic business development—preferably within the arts, cultural, non-profit, or adjacent sectors.
- Strong strategic planning, campaign management, and team leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in securing significant gifts or partnerships from philanthropic foundations, major donors, or institutional funders.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills, with experience in proposal development and donor-facing communications.
- Proven ability to think analytically and creatively, and to translate strategy into systems, processes, and action.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, if required.
Key Attributes
- Strategic thinker with a passion for building high-impact fundraising programmes.
- Collaborative and emotionally intelligent leader with strong mentoring instincts.
