Key Responsibilities:
- Development of new thermal optimization algorithm for the design of air-cooled heat sink and motor housing with enhanced thermal efficiency when compared to conventional heat sinks- Perform numerical simulation to determine the heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics from the heat sinks and motor housings- Generate designs for the fabrication of heat sinks and motor housings by conventional and advanced manufacturing- Performing experimental investigations to optimize their thermal performance in terms of both heat transfer and weight reduction- Work closely with other graduate students and researchers on experimental and numerical investigations- Assisting the preparation of the necessary research reports and technical papers- Work closely with researchers, graduate and undergraduate students performing research such as URECA or final year projects.- Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and his co-investigators in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students in the research team, and perform all related assignments and studies as directed by the PI from time to time

Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field- Experience in the development of numerical model and algorithm related to convection, radiation, and conduction heat transfer- Expertise in numerical simulation (CFD or other techniques) and analytical formulations- Expertise in utilizing Computer-Aided Design tools for the development of the air-cooled condensers and fabrication using additive manufacturing techniques- Experience in heat transfer experiments and measurements,- Relevant knowledge in material development and radiative cooling,-
- Experience in additive manufacturing of metallic parts will be an advantage- Proficiency in written and spoken English
