Regulatory Compliance ensures adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting the policies which cover HSBC’s regulatory requirements, and mitigate conduct and reputational risk issues. It monitors how the Global Businesses and Functions manage their responsibilities with regard to complying with the regulations and helps resolve compliance deficiencies.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a** Senior Global Private Banking Credit Risk Approver.**

**Principal Responsibilities**

In this role you will
- Be a senior Global Private Banking (GPB) Credit Risk approver covering Global Private Banking and will be responsible as a key GPB structured lending credit risk assessor and approver to GPB products
- Assess, review and approve new and interim credit requests (including increase/reduce limit, limit reallocation, amendments to credit facilities) and credit renewals/credit reviews in accordance with Delegated Credit Approval Authority. Where the limits exceed your authority level, make relevant recommendation to the relevant Credit Authority holder for approval
- Responsible in engagement of external client meeting
- Perform credit risk monitoring and control, including daily risk management on shortfall/margin call and limit excesses to ensure portfolio is sound and secure. Credit losses, if any, will be managed at first instance and to be minimized
- Oversight of credit risk activities/work performed by Offshore GSC Credit Approval Team and GSC Product Risk Team
- Provide guidance and feedback to GPB Business and Credit Advisory teams
- Ensure appropriate underwriting/monitoring/control standards in respect of GPB Credit Advisory are in place
- Provide feedback and support to key initiatives on streamlining processes and undertake ad hoc projects as assigned from time to time
RequirementsTo be successful you will need
- Extensive years of working experience in the Private Banking Credit Risk Management Space
- Good knowledge of private banking business and private bank (or investment bank) product offerings and credit policies, documentation, and processes
- Strong understanding of financial markets and financing structures, particularly in South-east Asia. Good understanding of financial assets and other asset classes, such as Commercial Properties, Trophy assets, unlisted shares, etc. across the spectrum
- Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Alive to the wider global risk aspects of the role and ability to adapt to constantly changing environment
- Good time management skills. Strong ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
