**Position Summary
This position will include engaging GCNS Participating Companies and CPLC SG Partners, facilitating learning in emissions reduction, curating and processing data for local and regional reports, and advancing the low carbon agenda locally and regionally. It also presents a career opportunity in an exciting and growth area of sustainability and carbon management.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct training in carbon emissions management for companies and provide them with support and guidance to progress in their emissions reduction journey
- Develop resources and tools to support LowCarbonSG programme participants in GHG footprint reduction, such as additional training materials, videos, guides, etc.
- Provide support for the verification and awarding process of national emissions recognition programmes in partnership with government stakeholders
- Research on emerging trends and initiatives relating to global sustainability initiatives such as environmental and carbon legislation, renewable and efficiency incentives, and reporting programs, particularly in the area of Internal Carbon Pricing.
- Curate and maintain a knowledge library for LowCarbon SGs participants.
- Be the internal GCNS focal point for the Carbon Emission and Recording Tool (CERT), including maintaining and further enhancing its capability, digitalisation, validity and relevance.
**Skills and Capacities**
- Knowledge of carbon calculation and management will be viewed highly favourably, particularly for the Manager position, such as:
- Understanding of carbon market and pricing developments, carbon reporting and disclosure
- Ability to carry out an organisational carbon footprint, analyse the output, and propose and develop mitigation plans and projects for reduction of carbon footprint.
- A healthy curiosity and willingness to learn new things and keep up with developments in sustainability and carbon accounting
- Meticulous and imaginative in analysing information
- Conscious of achieving goals within timelines
- Aware of systems thinking and interconnectivity
- Ability to work within a small team dynamic, yet able to build networks and connect with stakeholders in the wider sustainability and carbon accounting arena.
**Educational and Experience Requirements**
- At least 4 years of relevant work experience for the Assistant Manager position, and at least 8 years for the Manager position.
- Tertiary level education in business, geography, sciences, or one of the engineering disciplines e.g. mechanical/chemical/civil/electrical
- For the Manager position, a relevant sustainability-related diploma, degree or post-graduate qualification is also a requirement.
- Practical experience with, and understanding of, plant machinery and energy efficiency projects will be an advantage.
- ACTA or ACLP qualifications and/or previous training experience will also be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
