Senior/executive, Quality and Patient Safety

Family Group: AdministrationThe Senior/Executive of the Population Health Office’s Office of Clinical Governance (POP OCG) will support the development and operationalization of PHC’s Quality and Patient Safety Plan. This includes clinical risk and incident management, compliance with quality and patient safety standards, as well as capability and culture building.
This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication skills and teamwork to promote Quality and Safety, to improve quality of care within PHC. These efforts will contribute to building an effective clinical governance that would empower the development of Population Health.
Major
**Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate a seamless incident reporting process via good management of the Incident Reporting Management System and follow up on safety events. Assist in the investigation of incidents in PHC using root cause analysis (RCA) and other investigative processes.
- Collect and analyze data related to quality indicators, patient outcomes, and safety events. To assist with generating reports and dashboards for performance tracking, monitoring of trends, and highlighting areas for improvement.
- Enhance PHC’s patient and safety culture by co-developing patient safety curriculum, conducting regular trainings, and executing related events that promote patient safety and quality culture.
- Support PHC’s adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements by assisting in preparing for audits, surveys, and external reviews.
- Assist in identifying potential risks to patient safety and recommending appropriate strategies to address these risks. To be involved in monitoring implementation progress on corrective actions and of improvement plans.
- Provide secretariat support and administrative assistance for the PHC Clinical Board, PHC Quality Committee and other Population Health Campus-related meetings. Responsibilities include oversight of the general management of the meetings and connecting participants and stakeholders to working together towards the respective meeting goals.
Job Requirements
- Good bachelor’s degree in nursing, pharmacy, or allied health.
- At least 2 years of working experience in healthcare setting.
- Prior experience in a quality or patient safety role is preferred.
- Experience in incident reporting systems or quality management software would be beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Good analytical skills with proficiency in data management tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Resourceful and able to work in ambiguous situations with a can-do attitude.
- Independent, self-motivated with a result-driven mindset
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills with an analytical mind.
