Overall purpose

This expansive and wide ranging role works directly to develop and deliver Lloyd’s Asia’s market development, distribution and broker relationship management, thought leadership, market intelligence, and market promotion strategy, supporting the Head of Market Development, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and the Singapore Country Manager in doing so.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Projects
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Lloyd’s Asia’s market development strategy.
- Proactively support and lead on market development elements of Future at Lloyd’s adoption strategies for Lloyd’s Asia.
- Work with the Head of Market Development on specific strategic initiatives, including New Entrants, working to identify and facilitate market engagement with prospective capital providers in Singapore.

Distribution and Stakeholder Management
- Manage and lead Lloyd’s Broker Relationship Management (BRM) function in Singapore, supporting the Lloyd’s Asia Country Manager to develop and deliver their BRM priorities.
- Ensure business strategies of local and regional brokers, coverholders, cedants, customers and other producers in the APAC region are reflected in Lloyd’s Asia’s strategy.
- Work with central BRM team to understand London based brokers’ business plans for Singapore.
- Identify and propose market opportunities for inclusion in Lloyd’s Asia’s country plan and Lloyd’s regional strategy.
- Understand the strategies, priorities and business information requirements of managing agents writing, or seeking to write business in Singapore.
- Create and demonstrate value to Lloyd’s managing agents by supporting (where practical) their business development activities in Singapore.
- Foster effective Corporation/market collaboration, by facilitating and coordinating the activities of the Lloyd’s Asia Development Groups (class of business panels) and the Lloyd’s Asia CEO Forum.
- Promote the development of Lloyd’s Asia though the implementation of structured engagement with and guidance for prospective new joiners.
- Promote and develop the coverholder model in Singapore, providing assistance to prospective coverholders, and contribute to the coverholder approval process as appropriate.
- Develop relationships with insurance Associations, Risk Manager Associations, and other relevant bodies in Singapore and ASEAN to share expertise and enhance local market knowledge of Lloyd’s.

Data, Market Intelligence and Analysis
- Collaborate with the Singapore Country Manager, central data and MI teams to collect and maintain market information on Lloyd’s Asia and Singapore.
- Collaborate with managing agents to collate, share and distribute “soft” market information gathered from local/regional sources.
- Prepare and produce market presentations and analysis to support the Corporation and managing agents.

Marketing and Events
- Lead development and delivery of Lloyd’s Asia’s Market Development events in Singapore and the region.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Comms to ensure event/promotional activities support Lloyd’s brand and are aligned to Lloyd’s central, regional and local objectives.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Insurance, reinsurance and/or broking experience in the Asia Pacific region
- Relevant professional qualifications, including insurance (ACII / ANZIIF etc)
- Sound knowledge of the Lloyd’s market and international (re)insurance operations.
- Knowledge of marketing, distribution and strategy principles.
- Strong commercial background including experience of working with insurers, reinsurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, regional brokers or MGAs, including in a marketing, distribution or strategy function.
- Strong communication, analytical, presentation, and written skills

**Capabilities**:

- Ability to form and develop sound business relationships demonstrating professional standards together with developed negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent relationship management skills - in particular influencing and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Sound business judgement and cultural awareness.
- To be able to act in a commercial customer focused manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages relevant to do business in the region looked on favourably.

**LOCATION**:

- This role is primarily based in Lloyd’s Asia’s offices in Singapore with a need to spend significant time in person working from the office, though Lloyd’s embraces and supports flexible working practices.
