Department Head

**Job Description**:
At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented **Head of HVAC/Building Services** to join our team at our office in **Singapore**

Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project manager and discipline directors to determine scope, cost, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of projects.
- Define an appropriate cost-effective workflow process and level of design detail to achieve project goals.
- Ensure compliance with established IPS standards, procedures, codes, and ordinances
- Provide adequate training, administrative guidance, and instruction to personnel within the discipline.
- Plan and schedule work for the discipline ensuring the proper and effective distribution of assignments and manpower, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
- Act as a liaison for inter-office labor, work sharing, and outsourcing to consultants.
- Determine the labor, resource, and financial needs of the discipline.
- Assist in the development and coordination of divisional and inter-departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support strategic company initiatives.
- Perform various personnel functions that involve hiring, performance appraisal, salary position recommendations, and employee development.
- Act as a Lead Project Engineer or Design Coordinator when needed.
- Develop concepts and designs, and provide construction, commissioning, and qualification assistance when necessary.
- Additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- 15 years of experience in the design of (HVAC and Utilities) within BioPharma facilities, Life Sciences sectors, or the semiconductor industry.
- A BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or equivalent.
- Progressive ability, capacity and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others.
- Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, superior communication skills, team building, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a fluid, developing team to target business growth and high-quality projects.
- Has proven experience in cleanroom systems design in the Pharmaceutical and/or semiconductor industries.
