**Working Arrangement**

**Responsibilities**:
- Pricing oversight: Accountable for the integrity of all pricing activities undertaken, including preparing documentation that outlines key financial metrics and how major risk exposures are mitigated. Review and approve all support systems, marketing materials and policy contracts.
- Risk Management: Manage all the financial aspects associated with designing and pricing products / features. Maintain business unit product risk inventory and completion of the Annual Self-Assessment Questionnaire ensuring compliance with Corporate standards and establishing a timeline for implementing new standards or changes
- Project Management: Maintain a rapidly changing portfolio of initiatives with varying degrees of complexity and urgency in support of business unit objectives. Meet regularly with senior business unit leaders to update progress, reassess priorities and confirm action plans to complete key pricing projects in a timely fashion. Obtain formal approval for all product initiatives through the Corporate Product Risk Management gating process.
- Reinsurance: Negotiate and oversee the implementation of all reinsurance treaties related to new business, ensuring that all new business reinsurance treaties are fully documented and consistent with company best practices. Ensure new business reinsurance treaties are providing good economic value.
- Leadership: Contribute as a senior member of the financial management team to the strategic direction of the business unit. Provide leadership to actuarial professionals. Develop, coach, mentor, and recruit staff to build capabilities.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education**:
- University degree
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years actuarial pricing experience in positions of increasing responsibility
- Strong business acumen coupled with the ability to assess all stakeholder needs and influence outcomes as appropriate
- Strong risk assessment skills as well as strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex financial information and concepts
- Strong communication skills to deliver appropriate messaging to diverse audiences in an effective manner
- Strong organizational and priority management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects and manage the work of others to achieve high quality results under deadline pressure
- Ability to manage day-to-day staffing issues; lead by example and motivate the Pricing area as well as leadership in the business unit generally
- Ability to adeptly manage multiple priorities that span a range of business issues
- Extensive knowledge of the financial services industry
- Decisiveness - ability to assess and solve problems quickly, making sound business decisions
- Results driven and ability to work under extreme pressure often in very sensitive situations
- Basic understanding of Insurance systems
- Proven leadership, strategic thinking, decision making and execution skills
- Strong business acumen, customer, and market focus
- Highly developed communication and relationship skills
