**Job Description**:
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Screening and recovering eye tissue from suitable donors and perform tissue processing, evaluation and distribution.
- To liaise with overseas eye banks to import ocular tissue to supplement the local supply.
- Working closely with the eye donation counselor as well as medical, nursing and allied health staff involved in the transplant process.
- Attending to routine on-call responsibilities outside of usual business hours including responding to pages in a timely manner and following through with tasks that may continue past scheduled shift times.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in a Life Sciences field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Medical or allied health background preferred with working knowledge of aseptic technique and Universal Precautions.
- Experience in surgical technology/operating room procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile techniques desirable.
- This position also includes on-call hours.
- Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible and collaborative
- Basic computer skills
