
Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is responsible for a variety of tasks that support the firm's clients and senior accountants. The role generally involves bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- **Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting**:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for clients using accounting software like Xero, or QuickBooks.
- Prepare and process journal entries, invoices, and expense reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- **Audit and Tax Support**:
- Help senior accountants and auditors during internal and external audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns and corporate tax computations.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and other regulatory requirements.
- **Client Communication**:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing their accounting-related queries and providing timely support.
- Maintain a professional and service-oriented relationship with clients.
- **Administrative and Ad Hoc Tasks**:
- Support the administrative needs of the accounting department.
- Assist in special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- **Educational Background**:
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
- **Experience**:
- Some experience in a similar role, preferably within an accounting firm. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are also encouraged to apply.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with common accounting software is highly desirable.
- **Soft Skills**:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
