Meaningful Work From Day One

This position reports to the Senior Attorney for Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands (ANZPI) based in Singapore. This role will support the Senior Attorney with responsibility for sales, marketing and general commercial matters relating to Brown-Forman’s business in Asia and ANZPI.

What You Can Expect- Commercial Support. Negotiate, review, analyze and/or draft commercial contracts with customers, distributors and vendors in the region in English and other languages. Assist with the contract administration (including renewal tracking), management and filing.- Corporate Maintenance. Corporate maintenance of our companies throughout the Region in close collaboration with the finance, accounting and tax departments. Drafting and tracking various board resolutions, intercompany agreements and arrangements.- Regional Marketing_. _Review beverage alcohol advertising, marketing and promotions developed for certain regional markets to ensure compliance with legal requirements, voluntary industry codes of conduct and internal standards. Advise and train BF employees and agents as they develop and/or execute advertising, marketing, promotional, sales, compliance or other programs relating to BF’s Business in the Region.- Compliance. Contribute to existing strong compliance culture by assisting with compliance-related training with respect to, among others, competition law, anti-bribery and privacy and implementing compliance-related policies, processes, procedures and controls.- Managing Outside Counsel. In collaboration with the Senior Attorney, supporting the process of engaging and managing outside counsel in the Regions.- General Legal Support and Other Responsibilities_._ In collaboration with the Senior Attorney, provide day-to-day commercial legal support, business focused advice, and counsel to the sales, marketing and procurement organization. Support the continuous improvement of standard agreements, policies and processes. Legal operations development and project management. Anticipate changes to, and advise on, relevant laws impacting our activities and customers. Other legal tasks as needed.
- Travel: _this role will require traveling (up to 15%)

What You Bring to the Table- Top tier law firm training;- Minimum 5 years legal experience;- Experience as a lawyer in a corporation in the Region working on commercial and regulatory matters for consumer products;- Ability to spot business issues and offer timely, practical legal solutions;- Ability to work independently and efficiently with limited guidance;- Ability to communicate in English clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; and- Experience handling multiple tasks and multiple clients.
