The Regulatory Affairs Lead is accountable for all regulatory function related technical activities and for ensuring all products are in compliance with related regulations in AMEA.

This role needs to:

- Develop streamlined compliance strategies to support all business initiatives (e.g. new products, claims, artwork clustering) and ensure compliance & labelling is always done first time right
- Ensure business is updated with all new and upcoming regulatory developments globally and regionally and enable proactive steps to meet the requirements with no/mínimal disruptions
- Proactively develop relationships with regulatory and trade bodies to enable advocacy of industry-friendly legislation
- Lead the wellbeing agenda to support business growth

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the overall regulatory affairs team and technical activities to ensure regulatory compliance of all products
- Provide regulatory guidance to cross-functional stakeholders on issues and go / no go areas from a regulatory perspective at every stage of the product lifecycle
- Engage with relevant regulatory authorities and industry associations for effective compliance and advocacy of industry-friendly legislation
- Proactively engage in risk assessment of key regulatory areas affecting the business and advise business leaders on such areas of risk and develop mitigation plan for them
- Work towards building comprehensive database of all regulatory information related to products, ingredients, formulations, labels, claims, policies and procedures and use it to devise regulatory plans which will proactively help the company devise first time right regulatory strategies
- Stay up to date on international best practices in the regulatory front to be able to support the new product pipeline and generate support for raw materials, new product formats, regulatory classifications of formulations, justifications for new materials etc.
- Maintain good & current knowledge in the areas of food regulations both national and international especially those of Codex, EFSA, USFDA etc. for effective engagement with external agencies and convincing advocacy
- Ensure the implementation of internal compliance policies & labelling requirements
- Create and drive the Wellbeing agenda for Snacks to support business growth
- Manage & develop a high-performing and engaged team

**Critical Capability, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related technical field with minimum 7-10 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs Function in food industry
- Deep knowledge of regulations, systems, and processes related to Regulatory Affairs. Good understanding of the broad regulatory and policy context of regulations
- Good understanding of food processing, R&D, operations and possess business acumen
- Business partner mindset: solutions-focused approach to regulatory interpretation. Able to dimensionalise and communicate regulatory risks vs business benefits
- Strong communication skills in written & spoken English, preparation of formal documents. Fluency in another Asian language is desired
- Strong leadership & interpersonal capabilities to design strategies, lead the team, and influence internal & external stakeholders
- Effective project management skills, using planning tools and processes effectively
- Prior people management experience is a plus
