The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research collaboratively with team members to ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.- Design, develop, and fabricate soft interconnects for stretchable electronic devices, enabling their integration into functional systems such as wearable and robotic platforms.- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the deployment of next-generation flexible and stretchable electronic systems.- Assist in grant writing.- Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.- Assist or produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.- Contribute to the mentoring and guidance of junior researchers and students, fostering an environment of learning and innovation within the project team.
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field.- At least 4 years of relevant experiences in soft robotics- Expertise in soft robots, actuators, mechanical sensors, strain sensors, flexible electronics.- Proficiency in mechanical testing, electrical testing, materials characterization, system integration- Good written and oral communication skills- Capable of design and assemble of device prototypes.Hiring Institution: NTU
