Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation's Power, Utilities & Infrastructure (PUI) team is looking to hire a Director for originating and executing transactions with focus on client coverage across Asia. The PUI team provides lending and advisory solutions across various asset including Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Hydro, Roads and Airports, with increasing focus on ESG related business and energy transition.

**Key Roles/Responsibilities**:

- Deal origination:

- Maintain close relationship with existing clients and develop new relationships
- Take responsibility in covering specifics markets and identify new opportunities across the region
- Sector coverage banking activities including marketing, pitching and providing tailored financial solutions to clients by leveraging on industry knowledge and expertise
- Prepare financial proposals including term sheets and/or presentations
- Identity and monitor market developments and opportunities
- Liaise with various internal, external stakeholders (banks, advisors, legal firms etc.) and clients as necessary
- Deal execution:

- Review/Preparation of credit paper and other related materials as necessary
- Assist with the documentation process with support from internal and external legal counsel as necessary
- Review financial models and guide junior staff on the same
- Assist in advisory mandates when selected and prepare materials for client with regards to deal execution
- Assist in the negotiation process on deals
- Guide junior members on origination and execution process

**Requirement**:

- Bachelor's degree
- Good written and verbal communications skills
- At least 7-12 years of relevant work experience, preferably in M&A / project finance / structured finance. Experience in M&A would be viewed favourably
- Work experience in the Energy and Infrastructure space with direct experience in Renewable energy
- Good understanding of loan documentation
- Good transaction structuring skills and understanding of credit process
- Financial modelling skills
- Ability to work independently on jobs assigned
- Ability to guide and mentor junior members
- Good client network and relationship with other sector participants
- Positive personality with strong work ethics
- Independent, self-motivated and strong team player with ability to work in multicultural team
