Are you up for the challenging next step in your career? Stolthaven’s SHEQ Safety department is looking for a SHEQ Superintendent who will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental regulations, and quality control, on-site in our terminal.

The SHEQ Superintendent will report to the General Manager.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement and maintain an effective safety program for SHVNH & SHVNN. Maintain and update the site safety procedures and training matrix to ensure that employees maintain the necessary, knowledge and skills to effectively and safely carry out their responsibilities. Keep current with regulations and industry best practices. Participate and/or lead regulatory and customer safety audits.
- Ensure that changes in operations, procedures, applicable standards, facilities, and personnel are evaluated and managed to ensure that safety, health and environmental risks arising from these changes remain at an acceptable level. Ensure that the proper PPE is specified and available before new products are handled and that new product review information is shared and consistently applied at both terminals.
- Ensure that the work permitting process meets or exceeds OSHA standards. Ensure that jobs are planned, equipment is prepared, personnel are informed of hazards and procedures, precautions are taken, and work is executed in a manner to protect safety, health and the environment. Conduct periodic audits to ensure that program is effectively and consistently applied to ensure the safety of SHVN employees and contractors.
- Ensure that risk analysis and assessments are conducted in conjunction with ongoing operations and new facilities and products. These assessments include process hazard analysis and security risk assessment. Ensures that recommendations from risk assessments are communicated to management and addressed in a timely manner. Ensure that procedures, facilities, communication systems, and organizational structure are in place to provide effective response to incidents which could occur in a terminal environment. Ensure that emergency plans are current, documented, accessible and clearly communicated.

**Qualifications**
- Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in safety-related field is preferred.
- Certified Workplace Safety and Health Officer.
- Certified Fire Safety Manager.
- At least 4-8 years’ experience working in a Terminal or Petrochemical Industry strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with safety management (OSHA, USCG, Fire Fighting, First Aid, Industrial Hygiene, State and Federal Regulations) in a terminal environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of PSM regulations.
- Familiarity with a variety of process safety and qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.
- Experience with the ISO certificates.
- Strong skills in communication, problem solving, facilitation, planning and leadership.
- Ability to perform hazard analysis, risk assessments, process incident investigations and audits of process safety and risk management programs.
- Ability to design, implement, and train on process safety program elements.
- Knowledge of plant and EHS operations and their interaction in Process Safety.
- Advanced computer skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office tools. Team player, positive attitude, reasonable written and spoken communication skills.
