Our client is leading shipping MNC with a global presence. To support their growth strategy, our client is hiring **Training Superintendent - HSSE in Singapore.**

**Training Superintendent - HSSE**

**THE ORGANIZATION**

Reporting to the head of the department, you will be in-charge of designing, delivering, and managing the on-board training of crew and officers by sailing on the vessel on a rotation basis. The responsibilities will also be to identify the training needs manage the training programs and development of new courses for the seafarers as per the regulatory and industry practices.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **
Crew development.** Help build performing crew teams on-board with a strong focus on quality, safety, operations, and technical excellence. Motivate the employees on board to excel. Provide training report for the visit and feedback on vessel’s preparedness for inspections and audits.
- ** Safety awareness.** Train on safety matters and operational training. Train for creating and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment as per company procedures. Motivate Ship’s staff to work towards quality and continuous improvement.
- ** Procedural improvement.** Guide and train on how to follow up with industry requirements. How to effectively engage and facilitate Port State Inspections. Coordinate closely with marine department on scope for training needed in specific areas and domains identified on board and identify weak areas requiring special focus.
- ** Strategic planning.** Liaise closely with the crewing, technical, SHEQ, and training teams to ensure the onboard training initiatives are within the agreed objectives and strategies. Allocation of resources, setting processes, implementing improvement plans in a rigorous and structured way for crew competence development for all ships in the fleet.
- ** Budget management. **Developing the annual training plan and execute it. Take full responsibility for the budget assigned for onboard training.
- **Relationship management. **Build and maintain** **close relationships with the ship’s crew and management teams, and onshore teams. Working closely with crewing department to familiarize with crew’s background and nature.

**Requirements**:
**YOUR PROFILE**:

- You must be a qualified Marine Engineer, or equivalent diploma holder in marine/navigation.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Training Superintendent on Bulk carriers Vessels in a similar role.
- Minimum six months of sailing experience as a Master or senior officer with COC Class1 on Bulk Carrier vessels is a must.
- Strong knowledge of bulk carrier operations and regulations.
- Experience in managing and developing training programs.
- Understanding of training and development strategies.
- Experience of identifying training needs based on vetting and technical reports.
- Well updated with the latest regulatory requirements and its implementation
- Dedicated to developing seafarers’ career.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholder.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is essential for training Chinese crew members onboard.
