The Research Fellow will lead experimental research exploring ligands modified Inorganic Perovskite Nanocrystals with enhanced quantum effects. The main role is to perform materials synthesis, device fabrication, characterization of structural and optoelectronic properties. The Research Fellow is required to report experimental results and assist the Principal Investigator in preparing progress reports and lab administration. The Research Fellow should be able to independently conduct research with strong self-motivation. The Research Fellow will also support the teaching of crystal chemistry to graduate students using an on-line platform that will entail scheduling assessments, uploading materials, responding to student queries and compiling marks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials synthesis and device fabrication
- Perform structural and optoelectronic characterization and data analysis
- Prepare progress reports and present in project meetings
- Run and maintain the equipment in the lab
- Prepare publications for leading scientific journals
- Manage purchasing of consumables and small equipment
- Assist in the teaching of Crystal Chemistry of Materials including preparation and monitoring of assessments and maintaining study materials on the e-learning platform
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or closely related disciplines
- Experience in materials growth and characterization. Direct experience with light-emitting nanocrystals and colloidal nanocrystal synthesis is highly desirable
- Solid knowledge and in depth understanding of crystal chemistry of materials, solid state physics, surface chemistry or other relevant disciplines etc
- Experience with materials characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, XPS, PL, UV-Vis etc) and data analysis
- An interest in education and teaching graduate students
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
