Position Overview
Responsibilities of this position include creative flavor development and commercialization, effective project management and innovation skills, successful mentoring and training, active customer engagement, and championing / contributing to internal McCormick projects. Develop and manage customer relationships at all levels. Recognized as a technical leader in the flavor area. Plays role as mentor and developer of talent. Reporting to VP of R&D, APZ/China.

Key Responsibilities
Expertly develops flavor solutions including flavor duplications, new creations, and modifications across a broad range of flavor profiles to meet customer and internal project requests. Creates new and innovative flavor profiles. Recognizes problems, gathers and interprets significant data to find creative solutions to complex issues. Recognized as a technical leader in his/her area of expertise. Manages transfer of flavor formulas from bench to successful production. In depth understanding of processes and operations to ensure successful product scale-up and troubleshooting problems.

**Complex Project Management**: Plan and lead project teams, defining and assessing project requirements, designing, and managing experiments, effectively communicating and presenting results.
Identifies, investigates and assesses new ingredients, technologies, materials, and methods that will provide innovative solutions to customer and industry challenges. Work has significant impact on McCormick flavor technology or capabilities. Transfers knowledge to McCormick.
Supports Sales & Marketing objectives and directly interacts/visits with target/key customers in support of existing and new business growth opportunities.
Provide expertise on projects performed in other groups within McCormick, with outside consultants, and/or with vendors. Collaborates with Applications, Analytical, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, Planning, Production, Sensory, Marketing, Sales and other department teams to ensure creations meet benchmarks set by customer and are reproducible in the plant. Participate directly in strategic category and platform initiatives to build flavor ingredient capabilities, execute training programs and flavor offerings.

Required Qualifications

BSc in Flavor industry
Ability to communicate effectively through both written and oral communications with customers, and interdepartmental/cross functional groups and business leaders as appropriate
Proven intellectual curiosity and self-starter, collaborative behavior Ability to influence others and do so in a leadership role. Daily interactions with internal (R&D) parties and cross functional teams as well as Business leadership Frequently interacts with vendors Regularly interacts with customers and McCormick commercial teams
Problem solving Ability to interpret data and solve complex problems with incomplete information. Ability to manage risk in making critical decisions
Collaboration - Project management and ability to interact, seek advice, teach, influence, and negotiate.
Demonstrate the ability to influence across the organization and with key customer contacts.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experienced in creating delivering presentations to customers, internal colleagues, Senior McCormick Management and at Industry events.
