**What the role is**

Deputy Director/Human Resource
Work closely with the Director, Human Resource to provide strategic leadership and management in all areas of human resources, ensuring the effective implementation of policies and practices that align with the polytechnic’s objectives.
Responsible to oversee the daily operations of the HR department and lead a team of HR professionals.

**What you will be working on**

1. Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with Director, HR to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the polytechnic’s goals.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on HR-related matters to senior management and other stakeholders.

2. Policy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement effective policies and workforce solutions through

workforce planning and organisation design
- Ensure effective implementation and communication of HR policies.

3. Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee the recruitment and selection processes, ensuring the timely

attraction and retention of talent.
- Lead efforts to build and maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce.

4. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Promote a positive work culture and foster strong employee relations as well as with the union
- Address employees’ concerns and grievances, and ensuring fair and timely resolution.

5. Performance Management
- Develop and implement performance management systems and processes.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance-related issues.

6. HR Operations and Compliance
- Oversee the efficient and effective HR operations, benefits administration and

management of HR (Workday) system.

**What we are looking for**
- Minimum ten years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on strategic HR

management and leadership roles.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and

initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong HR analytical skills
- Passionate in driving HR excellence and transformation
- Able to handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Having HR certification, eg. IHRP-Senior Professional is an advantage.
