**Who You Are**
You are a market research professional with at least 8 years’ experience working in a market research, CX or customer insights related functions. Of which you have spent at least 3 years on the ‘client’ side of the profession.
Where some others may see market research as a transactional and tactical function, you see it as a strategic platform for transforming the way organizations think, plan and work. With this philosophy in mind, you will have had some successes and failures in driving wider cultural change in how organizations think about customers, and you will have learnt from those experiences.
You are bold in your thinking - able to problem-solve on your feet, originate new ways of working, and most importantly, speak up for the perspective of the end customer. But while you are not afraid to speak out, you have the maturity, EQ and personality to navigate a multi-cultural workplace.
You probably lead from the front, but you are also careful to spend time persuading and taking people with you.
You are detailed oriented. You are the kind of person who likes to dig deep into a topic and isn’t afraid of amassing large amounts of information, data and opinions. But out of that detail you can build a clear and logical conclusion. In short, you are comfortable navigating the trees, but you never lose sight of the wood.
You are probably not passionate about HVAC, but you are deeply motivated when it comes to engaging customers and deriving insights that can help businesses to be more successful.
Your research skills and knowledge are solid and you are comfortable working with a wide variety of statistical and qualitative analytical methods. But you also know how to meld science with a little art, framing customer research results to tell compelling and actionable stories that can inspire people to act.
For you the end of a project isn’t delivering a research report. Particularly with important projects, you continue to encourage, explain and extrapolate those insights into actions for the business.
You may have been part of larger customer insights teams in the past, but you are comfortable jumping into a job where you’ll be the only professional. That’s because you see yourself less as a team of one, more as a facilitator helping hundreds of other colleagues get inspired to engage, learn and act on what their end customers are telling them.
