**Position Purpose**

To utilise your critical thinking and decision making abilities to identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the critical systems teams, provide leadership and be accountable for creating and implement strategic initiatives which standardise and improve the operational performance and outcomes of the critical system team.

This role is accountable for:

- Providing strategic input, planning and leadership to the Head of OT to produce, systemise and implement a standardised operating model and processes across the support teams including budgeting, forecasting and resource and capacity planning and management
- Lead high performing teams of technical and engineering experts ensuring systems are available, maintained and supported and provide governance and oversight of vendor support contracts and performance
- Providing the primary interface for OCMS Operational Technology effort and budget estimating into MTM development processes (both Escrow and non-Escrow initiatives)
- Develop and lead appropriate and standardised monitoring tools, support contracts, maintenance and incident response processes and capability are in place to track maintenance and system performance, minimise operational impact and restore systems to operation quickly and efficiently
- Develop, plan and implement all “transition to support” activities to ensure appropriate processes and systems are in place to onboard upgraded/replaced systems delivered by the Delivery System Renewals area

**Functional Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement processes to manage resource demand to ensure efficient utilisation, commitments are met (including project budget resource recovery), and any deficits are identified and mitigated accordingly
- Define and lead systemised and consistent processes that ensure contracted support services are delivered to contracted SLA/KPI’s and performance requirements
- Actively participate in workshops, planning, design, and integration activities to ensure compliance with MTM standards and provide guidance and direction to broader technology strategies
- Identify, minimise, and manage exposure to any risk associated with supported systems and ensure effective controls are implemented
- Lead, define and implement improvements in the way in which operational systems are managed, maintained and supported, facilitating a continuous improvement culture
- Lead and deliver improvements to the cyber security posture of the critical systems, in conjunction with the OCMS cyber security and associated teams
- Build and lead ongoing stakeholder relationships within operations, infrastructure, project teams, vendors, and service providers to facilitate project deliverables and operational improvements
- Identify staff development, training and competency needs and ensure the training is obtained when necessary and the teams reach appropriate competency levels
- Develop options and make recommendations for the short and long term obsolescence management and ongoing maintenance/support arrangements for the supported systems
- Prepare and present qualitative and quantitative reports, briefings and information on systems performance, trends and identify improvement areas
- Any other duties as specified by manager and this role may require some outside of business hours support (incident escalation) or site attendance.
