**Job Title**:Legal Counsel - Cryptocurrency and Payments (Regulatory & Commercial)**

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking lawyer to join our in-house legal team, where you’ll play an essential role in navigating the complex legal frameworks governing crypto, fintech, and payments.

**Position Overview**

As a Corporate Lawyer with expertise in crypto and fintech, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal counsel on regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and the evolving legal landscape of fintech and digital assets.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external regulators, and key industry stakeholders to ensure that the company’s operations are legally sound, compliant, and aligned with market developments.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Regulatory & Compliance**
- Advise on the regulatory framework governing cryptocurrencies, fintech, and payment solutions across various jurisdictions (e.g. EU, APAC, etc.).
- Monitor and interpret new and emerging regulations and laws affecting digital assets, payments, and financial services (e.g., MiCA in Europe).
- Work with internal teams (e.g. product and compliance) to ensure the company’s operations are in line with applicable financial regulations, including KYC/AML and consumer protection laws.
- Lead or assist in licensing processes and regulatory reporting, liaising with relevant authorities.
- Provide legal advice on financial products, services, and digital asset offerings to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

**Commercial Contracts & Transactions**
- Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and service level agreements.
- Advise on legal aspects of product development, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and M&A transactions involving fintech, crypto, or payments companies.
- Provide day-to-day legal support on business operations, ensuring contracts and partnerships comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

**Strategic Advice**
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and business teams on growth opportunities, market expansion, and product offerings within the fintech and crypto space.
- Help drive business initiatives and manage legal risks associated with new product launches, investment strategies, and regulatory changes.

**Qualifications & Experience**

**Required**:

- **Education**: LLB or JD from a recognized law school; qualification to practice law.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a corporate/regulatory lawyer, with a focus on crypto, fintech, or payments.
- In-depth understanding of global fintech and crypto regulations, including EU and APAC regions.
- Experience advising on commercial and regulatory matters within the fintech or crypto sectors.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working in-house for a fintech, crypto, or payments company or with a leading law firm advising such clients.
- Familiarity with blockchain technologies and payment services.

- **Detail-Oriented**: Strong attention to detail, with a focus on mitigating legal risk and ensuring compliance.
- **Adaptability**: Comfort with working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry with new and emerging legal issues.
- **Language Requirements**: (i) **English**: Native or near-native proficiency required (ii) **Mandarin**: Minimally basic profeciency preferred.
