Head of Personal Training

This gig is all about partnering with the exercise experience and club teams to enhance Virgin Active’s fitness products, personal training and support the teams to achieve performance targets.

**A day in the life**
- Lead the personal training department team and build a strong, positive, and inclusive culture with on-going recruitment strategy to attract, engage and retain talents with the support of people team. **Be a role model for the team**:

- Nurture the fitness team holistically by growing and developing our Exercise and Experience Coaches (EEC). Work hand in hand with the Personal Training head coach to achieve the EEC progression and deliver best in class experience and results for our members.
- Be accountable for the EEC performances to achieve national personal training targets and performances. Propose commercial initiatives to ensure steady growth of sessions delivery and personal training penetration.
- Develop a recruitment strategy and permanent pipeline to attract new talents.
- Establish relationships with key industry contacts and develop an ongoing engagement plan around events and other value adds that drive an ongoing recruitment pipeline
- In relation with our club general managers and head of operations, advocate safety, educate and deliver a safe environment for members and team members.
- Monitor key fitness business outcomes including commercial performances (Revenue, margin, cost management) as well as fitness product engagement and quality. Be pro-active and initiate recommendations for improvement.
- Partner with Club General Managers and Fitness managers to plan and direct activities of the fitness teams to ensure skills level and consistency to achieve personal training sessions quality and targets achievement.
- Partner with central team to strategize and implement fitness initiatives and campaigns
- Provide leadership and direction on the fitness product proposition and personal training in line with global business objectives.
- Influence the direction of the fitness experience and suggest modifications to enhance the user experience and the Exercise Coach journey to meet the demands of the evolving product proposition and industry standards.

- You have 8+ years of relevant leadership experience and relevant tertiary qualifications.
- You have aligned experience in both fitness and group exercise domains. You know how to lead people to deliver meaningful exercise experiences. You’re comfortable managing budgets and thrive on exceeding performance targets. You bring a rare combination of technical aptitude, commerciality, program design capability and decision-making.
- You are people focused. You get a kick out of seeing teams kick PT targets and deliver on service standards. You’re happy to share your point of view, and open to changing your mind. You know how to navigate differing views in a way that’s considerate.
