Head of HR Advisory, SEA
LOCATION: Singapore
Reporting to the APAC Regional Head of HR Advisory, the Head of HR Advisory, SEA is responsible for supporting RELX businesses within specific countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.). You will have responsibility for managing the delivery of HR advisory services with a team of HR advisory partners reporting to you.
This role, and the HR advisory function, is key to the overall effectiveness of the HR model across RELX and to the delivery of the employee experience. You will need to have deep expertise and be able to provide advice and counsel in areas of Human Resources including compensation, benefits, employment law, organizational development, performance management, training, relocation, and recruiting.
You will implement proactive HR solutions in collaboration with the HR Leadership Partners to deliver on the business goals and strategy. This requires collaborating with COE colleagues and key stakeholders on all aspects of the employee experience from sourcing talent to performance management. The role provides support and guidance to the business (people managers and employees) on HR matters and responds expediently as they arise.
& KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Delivers the people initiatives that help move the business forward, providing consistent global solutions that may include organizational design, organizational change, employee engagement, management and team development and other interventions to support individual, team and organizational performance
- Supports and coaches line managers
- Ensures local country regulations and employment practices are adhered to by partnering closely with RELX in-house Employment Counsel
- Provides feedback to Shared Services Centre and HR Leadership Partners as appropriate and serves as escalation point for Shared Services Center
- Assesses and anticipates HR related needs and drives issues to closure
- Ensures consistent deployment of processes and policies across RELX businesses, bringing together managers from various divisions to collaborate on initiatives and solutions (where relevant to do so)
- Partners across HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent & Capability) as well as ER and Payroll to deliver solutions
- Advises managers in resolving complex people issues
- Collaborates with HR Leadership Partners to deliver proactive HR solutions
- Anticipates potential objections and serves as a change agent to effectively influence others to adopt a different point of view
- Coaches and develops advisory partners
- Acts as the escalation point for advisory partners
- Supports other HR and business initiatives including DEI, wellbeing, RE Cares, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality as appropriate
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated change management capability
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with focus on increasing employee engagement, building morale and improving productivity
- Coaching and influencing managers to lead people effectively
- Proven ability to analyze data to solve complex problems, as well as to quantify and measure success
- Proven track record of implementing people priorities associated with significant organizational change and redesign
- Ability to identify key priorities and drive focus and productivity
- Demonstrated growth mindset and positive approach to drive solutions
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualification highly regarded
- Relevant HR management experience
- Previous experience working in a matrixed, COE-enabled HR organization
- Knowledgeable with Workday
