**Junior MCE Developer, Mathematical Optimisation, Electricity Market Systems**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

In this role, you will:
Act as a member in APAC team, representing the face of high-quality design and development practices
- Working with customers on solutioning, market data, and mathematical formulation and modelling
- Understanding customer requirements, market modelling needs, design metamodels and transformation of data to target database formats
- Developing and implementing solutions that are aligned with product direction, consulting on and collaborating with customers, and other members from product and engineering team
- Being responsible for writing market functional software designs
- Lending expertise in response to customers’ requests for proposals
- Providing inputs to technical leads on schedules and cost estimates
- Interfacing with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise
- Cross mentoring peers

**Education Qualification**

The position requires a minimum Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Operations Research, Management Science, Industrial Systems Engineering, or Applied Mathematics. The position also requires:

- Strong fundamental understanding of mathematical optimisation, specifically linear programming, and mixed integer programming.
- Strong fundamental understanding of primal and dual constructs in Operations Research.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in working in Electricity Markets.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in delivery of projects related to electricity markets, such as spot electricity markets, look ahead markets or capacity markets.
- Minimum 6 months of experience with automated testing tool such as Cucumber, Specflow, or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in object-oriented programming languages
- Desired characteristics:_
- Positive attitude towards learning new things and tackling challenges
- Knowledge on Python, PowerShell and SQL (MSSQL and/or T-SQL) scripting languages. Good understanding of database operation
- Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs
- Ability to see integration issues and to preclude schedule impacts.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures. Ability to make formal and informal presentation to technical and non-technical staff and customers.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Preferred but not essential:_
- Having work experience in power systems area.
