**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Reviews tender documents/requests for proposals to understand project details and requirements.
- Assess and review engineering documentation such as drawings/specifications/scope of works to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements for precise estimation.
- Prepare precise quantity and component take-offs against the technical drawings, specifications and scope of work documentation.
- Prepare and schedule timely clarifications for ongoing submission within the tender/RFP term.
- Ensures the flow of bid project information is maintained and documented.
- Provide current & competitive industry up-to-date schedule of rates against the take-offs.
- Confirm and Produce BOM rates by using first principle build ups.
- Communicates and negotiates competitive rates with Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
- Arrange costing data and input into the proposal formats required by the tender documentation.
- Organize and verify tender bids against estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate within the Estimating Team and provide updates to the Estimating Manager or Project Manager.
- Collaborate with Discipline Estimators and Engineers to ensure it meets the project demands.
- Senior position acts as a mentor to other Junior Estimators and key members of the project team.
- Maintains Company Pricing Databases.
- Liaise and work effectively with team members with regards to estimating and tendering.
- Arrange and collaborate closely with other departments at the RBU level, such as the engineering, procurement, and commercial divisions.Adheres to Corporate Policies and Guidelines.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- MUST have at least 3 years of experience with a background in Mechanical Cost Estimating in the construction industry
- Industrial Projects Cost Estimating Experience is an advantage
- Proficient in supporting medium to large scale projects.
- Knowledge in preparing, co-ordination and consolidation of all estimating activities.
- First Principle Pricing is an advantage (Desirable)
- Knowledge in Cost Planning.
- Familiar with Estimating Mechanical Works such as: Building Services like ACMV, Fire Protection, and Plumbing & Sanitary system and utilities like Compressed Dry Air, Steam (Boiler), Vacuum System, Utilities Piping, Steelworks, Tanks, Equipment Installation, Heat Exchangers, Vessels, etc.
- Estimating Process System Works in Advanced Technology Facilities and Bio Life Science Industries is an advantage
- Formal and informal communication various Project Stakeholders.
- Clear and Structured Communication.
- Strong focus and detail oriented.
- With excellent numerical skills, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent teamwork and time management skills.
- Highly motivated and analytical.
- With excellent leadership skills for Senior Position
- Possess technical skills of Cost Estimation / Tendering works.
- Sounds knowledge of relevant Engineering.
- Use of typical estimating software (Desirable)
- Use of ‘Take-Off’ Software - Bluebeam (Desirable)
- Knowledge working with engineering drawings and specifications.AutoCAD, Navisworks (Desirable)
