**Octagon Advisors Pte Ltd **is a consulting firm specialising in risk management for banks and financial institutions, among other fields. The range of risk management services that we offer to our clients include Basel capital framework, IFRS 9 and all areas relating to credit, market, interest rate, liquidity and operational risk management.

In addition to financial institutions in Singapore, we provide consulting services to banks in countries such as Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar.

We are seeking individuals who wish to pursue a career in risk management consulting and pricing and risk model validation to join our expanding team of risk management and quantitative finance specialists. As many of our clients are overseas, the job requires frequent travel in the region. The job descriptions and the skill set we are looking for are given below.

**1. Job Requirements**:
**(i) Client Engagement**:
Assist in conducting workshops and discussion sessions with clients as part of a consulting team.

**(ii) Model Validation**:
Validate pricing models used for financial derivatives, as well as various quantitative models used in market risk measurement.

**(iii) Documentation**:
Develop detailed documentation for the clients, including policies, guidelines, procedures and any other business requirements.

**(iv) Analysis and Recommendations**:
Function as part of a team that performs fact finding, problem identification, in-depth analysis and development of recommendations to address specific issues of the clients and/or strengthen the state of risk management and control of the clients. These may relate to a wide range of areas in banks and non-bank financial institutions, including risk, credit, compliance, governance, operations, treasury, wholesale banking, retail banking and internal audit. Our advisory services are benchmarked to market best practices and latest regulatory requirements, where applicable.

**2. Experience / Skills Required**:

- Risk management.
- Development or validation of pricing / risk models used for financial derivatives.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand issues and present solutions clearly.
- Ability to understand methodology used for pricing financial derivatives.
- Proficiency in programming skills in Excel VBA, Matlab or Python.
- Skills in R or SAS would be an added advantage.
- Good presentation skills.

**3. Personal Qualities**:

- Proactive and resourceful nature.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively with clients.
- Ability to work as part of a team to meet project requirements.
