Legal Counsel

As part of the Legal Team, you are responsible to assist in assessing legal risks, providing comprehensive and sound legal advice in all matters affecting the organisation and its subsidiaries.
This includes drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents, commercial contracts, insurance policies to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements and relevant statutes, assisting to handle and advise on insurance claims and litigious matters.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide comprehensive and sound legal advice on matters affecting the company and its subsidiaries including advising on regulatory requirements under relevant statutes (eg Insurance Act, Financial Advisers Act, Securities & Futures Act), and MAS Notices and Guidelines
- Legal research and provision of legal opinions
- Provide timely legislative/case law updates relevant to management and business departments
- Handle a wide range of commercial/corporate work including drafting, reviewing and advising on legal documents, commercial contracts, insurance policies
- Assist in handling and advising on insurance claims and litigious matters
- Perform other related legal duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor or Head of Dept
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor of Law degree holder admitted to Singapore Bar with at least 5 years PQE in practice or in-house experience
- Experience in handling insurance, corporate and commercial laws matters
- Experience in handling fund offering documents, distribution/ subscription agreements, shareholders agreements and JVs will be an added advantage
- Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound understanding of insurance, corporate, commercial work
- Meticulous with the ability to work well independently as well as in a team
