- The Singapore office has well established relationships with various non-profit organisations within Singapore and across the region and is committed to providing resources to support them.**Role purpose**

To support the PBCI Sponsor / Partner with the management, development and promotion of A&O’s Pro Bono and Community Investment (PBCI) initiatives. The role will be based in Singapore to grow and develop the existing PBCI relationships and programmes.**Core responsibilities**

**Client relationships and matter management**
- Managing and developing relationships with civil society organisations, primarily those focussing on the following areas:

- Social finance and impact investment;
- Social mobility;
- Protection of human rights;
- Advancement and protection of women and children;
- Equal access to education for children;
- Access to legal and social rights for individuals; and
- Inclusion and diversity.
- Managing delivery of strategic and market leading PBCI work to ensure that all PBCI work is delivered to a high standard.
- Working with colleagues to develop and deliver community investment opportunities for the benefit of local communities struggling with financial hardship and other social problems.
- Proactively managing risk on pro bono matters including matter inception processes and responding to any negative issues appropriately by escalating the matter via the correct internal channels.

**Communication and marketing**
- Raise the profile of A&O’s PBCI practice internally and externally, to increase awareness, impact and participation.
- Preparing and delivering presentations to promote the PBCI practice to an internal audience of all levels of seniority.

**Qualifications and experience**
- Ideally, lawyer qualified in Singapore with current practising certificate and at least five years’ post qualification experience (or equivalent). Alternatively, at least five years’ experience in a legal or financial services firm in a Community Investment, Business Development, Marketing or Relationship Management role.
- Direct legal experience advising and acting for clients.
- Experience of pro bono work as a volunteer or co-ordinator.
- Interest in volunteer work and/or social welfare law and current affairs.
- Self-reliant and motivated to deliver excellent results.
