Pro Bono SG, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee with IPC status administers the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (“CLAS”), an access to justice initiative that ensures the needy and disempowered receives quality pro bono representation and advice in non-capital criminal cases.

**The Job**

The Advocacy offers an unparalleled and exciting opportunity to lead a team of passionate Fellows in taking on complex criminal matters pro bono at the State and Supreme Courts. Advocates are also expected to take on and argue more complex criminal matters.

Apart from criminal representation, CLAS Advocates are also involved in conducting interviews to assist in determining and making recommendations on whether aid ought to be extended to deserving accused persons.

Advocates will also receive free ongoing CPD training throughout the year as well as access to other senior members of the criminal bar for guidance and support.

If applicants are currently employed, they will need to resign in time to commence work on immediately.

**_Requirements _**
- Admitted to the Singapore bar with at least 3 years continuous practice two months prior to commencement.
- Acquired relevant experience in criminal litigation at both the State Courts & Supreme Courts, both at hearings at first instance and at appellate levels.
- Non-pro bono criminal prosecution or defence experience is also welcomed
- Preferably, an established track record for pro bono work (e.g. CLAS Fellow or Counsel and/or LASCO Counsel)
- Demonstrated passion for pro bono work with an understanding of the various activities undertaken by Law Society Pro Bono Services
- Self-motivated, resourceful and good team player
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and within tight deadlines
- Ability to lead and supervise the team
- Fluency in a second language
