Summary
Reporting to the Singapore Agency General Manager, the Head of Commercial, Singapore drives the development and execution of a commercialization and sales strategy in line with the agency business plan. The selected incumbent will lead the Agency Trade and Sales teams to drive market adoption of the company’s products and is responsible for business development, market share growth and commercial KPIs.
**Responsibilities**:
- To lead, drive, and develop an export & import sales strategy in line with business plan & budget to ensure profitability and steady market share growth in the Singapore market
- To support the GM on building the budgets related to products and services under the scope in line with key stakeholders and have ownership to materialize KPIs/goals set
- To actively identifying and pursue new business opportunities and maritime routes, such as securing new clients, exploring potential markets, and expanding our current product offering to our existing clients
- To enable and implement an adequate sales infrastructure to enable trade and sales team members thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
- To evolve, and drive forward sales practices through technology and data to identify and analyze business opportunities, measure activities, and problem solve
- To report key information at senior management meetings on market colour and market trends, opportunities, or any other relevant information on a regular basis, as well as lead specific campaigns whenever required
- To build consistent relationships with key customers and create opportunities for strategic alliances to enable cross selling opportunities within the group
**Requirements**:
- An MBA or Bachelor´s Degree in any related study
- Minimum 10 years and above in the Shipping industry experience (ideally Liner experience), with at least 5 years as leader managing a large team of upwards of 25 employees (directly and indirectly)
- Strong commercial acumen with good sales experience of local market to grow existing business and acquire new business
- Ability to speak English and Mandarin, as you would be interacting with Mandarin-speaking counterparties
- Strong code of ethics with strong stakeholder engagement
