THE ROLE

Ensure that Daraz’s payments business - including prepaid payments and the DarazPay wallet - is protected from external and internal risks, and in compliance with prevailing regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a deep understanding of DarazPay and all other prepaid payment methods, including customer lifecycle and user journey [i.e.. registration, KYC, browsing, order placement, payment, returns and refunds, etc.]
- Formulate a comprehensive end-to-end fraud risk strategy, including policies, prevention, detection frameworks, monitoring, response and best practices for daily operations
- Operate the payments risk engine, including the creation and continuous evaluation of rules to prevent and detect fraud
- Work with the Antifraud team resources to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of rules and algorithms in the risk engine
- Evaluate the risks associated with new launches or changes in products, jurisdictions, payment methods.etc
- Work with large data sets to analyse fraud patterns, trends and modus operandi, and present such findings in the form of presentations and reports to senior management and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal data science resources to build machine learning models and algorithms to detect fraud
- Source and collaborate with external resources (vendors, data service providers, etc.) to augment fraud analytics and detection capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor / Postgrad degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Computer science, Math, Statistics or related fields
- At least 3-5 years of experience in fraud risk management, forensics or investigations in the financial sector, ideally with fintech or e-commerce platform
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, AML, KYC, payment risk and compliance systems
- Strong data analysis and correlation skills with the ability to work on complex data sets preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to successfully negotiate with different stakeholders across various businesses.
