Roles & Responsibilities
Our client is one of the world's largest logistics platforms with US$21 billion in freight under management and 19 million shipments annually.
They are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.
**Procurement Assistant Manager - Asia to ISC**
As assistant procurement manager for Asia to India (South Asia), the primary objective is to drive the carrier strategy for the trade by focusing carrier relationships and developing the pricing/product structure for business into India both on CIF and FOB terms.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Research the trade and align with carriers/pricing to ensure competitiveness, by negotiating competitive terms and building the trade;
- Spearhead commercial negotiations and agreed to commercial deals along with allocations with partners;
- Communicate, build relationship with internal stake holders at regional levels of organization;
- Assist countries in setting up regional spot procurement function by being a focal point;
- Develop the Intra Asia pricing strategy by setting up FAK rates, MSR guidelines, Country engagement and ensuring the same is setup in their rate tool;
- Build volumes on CIF trade by promoting Country specific initiatives;
- World on global and Local RFQ's specific to the region within specific timelines.
**Skills Required**:
- Prior experience in Asia to ISC trade for a minimum of 2 to 3 years;
- Strong leadership skills, including ability to motivate influence and manage stakeholders across Asia;
- Solid decision-making ability using available facts in sensitive client and internal situations;
- Ability to develop and implement processes across multiple countries to create consistency and efficiencies;
- Good understanding of the Intra Asia Ocean Market, trends, customer requirements;
- Should have experience in managing global stakeholders;
- Strong team player;
- Strong Carrier relationships and knowledge of market/competitors;
- Innovative, Ownership, Problem solving attitude and Support broader transformation.
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required. Master's degree is preferred.
