**About Lumen**

**The Role**:
As part of its commitment to innovation in content delivery network (CDN) services, Lumen is looking for a motivated Solutions Architect to work on sales opportunities for CDN and Mesh within the APAC region. The position will maintain current knowledge of CDN trends, ecosystem, methodologies, to assimilate customer needs and design appropriate technical solutions. The position will become a technical trusted advisor for the CDN customers and opportunities within the APAC region. Acting as a champion internally, you will be translating industry best practices, trends, and customer needs back to peer groups in Operations, Marketing, Product, Service Delivery, Architecture/Engineering, etc. to facilitate ongoing, actionable improvements to the CDN / Mesh organization.

**The Main Responsibilities**:
Supporting the APAC Media business on the following:

- Demonstrates advanced solution selling abilities and effective, pro-active customer communications. Attends customer meetings in person and via the phone. Interacts independently with all levels of customer's management team to drive new sales.
- Partner with the Field Marketing & Sales Teams
- Be the technical liaison between the customer & the internal Lumen ecosystem
- Reviews customer technical requirements solicited through a consultative engagement.
- Interacts with sales/sales engineers and customers on large complex deals for CDN/Mesh, Application Delivery or Cloud services.
- Assists in identifying key technical influencers at existing customers and pursues marketing generated sales leads to close new business with prospective customers. Manages a support request funnel for CDN/Mesh specific opportunities within APAC.
- Proactively identifies areas of process and design improvement within CDN/Mesh and contacts impacted departments to recommend potential solutions.
- Coordinates customer implementation with service delivery organization and provides design clarifications. Interfaces directly with customer.
- Designs technical solutions that meet the customers' business objectives by mapping to Lumen products. Clarifies ambiguous requirements with sales or clients, ensuring the solution resolves underlying client issues. Provides guidance and alternatives to customer’s requirements.
- Acts as a liaison to internal groups such as Service Delivery, Offer Management, Product, Marketing, Architecture, and Capacity Planning to relay customer requirements and develop deliverable solutions.
- Take product expertise and technical ownership of the designated geographic territory
- More than 3 years’ of successful Pre-sales and in Media Distribution or a related field.
- Experience in needs identification, qualification, and solutions design with either media delivery or cloud services
- Good knowledge of video streaming technologies and the digital video ecosystem
- Familiarity with the competitive landscape including Akamai, Fastly, CloudFlare, CloudFront, Limelight, etc.
- Have worked at a Cloud Service Provider / Hyperscaler before.
- Awareness of cloud technologies like Docker/Kubernetes, caching strategies, third party metrics such as Conviva and Catchpoint, monitoring and alerting toolsets
- Experienced in leveraging technical relationships to up-sell existing customers
- Ability to influence and identify technical champions, both internally and externally
- This is a customer facing role that typically requires at least 30% or more of time conducting pre-sales activities outside of the office.
- This role also requires a regular office presence in support of pre-sales management and teams.
- Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field or applicable years of experience.

- Pre-sales astute and driven by delivering results
- Highly organized and able to change focus and reassess priorities quickly.
- Able to build long-term technical relationship based upon honesty and trust.
- More than 3 years’ of Solution pre-sales in a Telco / Content Distribution Network (CDN) or digital media-focused company
