The famous “hole-in-the-wall” bakery from Canggu, Bali opened its contemporary bakery café at Havelock Road, Singapore in August 2019. Starter Lab centres itself around healthy natural products from hand-crafted sourdough bread, pastries, posh toasts, salads, and locally roasted coffee. _

We are now on the lookout for an Executive Chef (Baker) for the production of Singapore's best sourdough bread and pastries based in Tai Seng, using wholesome ingredients and artisanal methods.
The Executive Chef (Baker) will support the Group Executive Chef by managing the day-to-day operational and technical requirements of the Bakery Factory in delivering (i) high-quality, healthy, and delicious bakery products, and (ii) strong sales and profit growth.
- Grow revenue and EBITDA each year by retaining existing customers and growing new customers (including through the above), managing team productivity carefully, and otherwise implementing efficient processes, costs savings measures, and profit improvements
- Lead, inspire, and work collaboratively with the rest of the Bakery team to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Manage, deploy, and develop kitchen personnel
- Conduct financial analysis of the business unit, control costs, and develop and establish financial budget and plans
- Manage central production operations
- Cultivate strong, positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, partners, and other team members
- Maintain Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards and checklists; responsible for ensuring team members adhere to HACCP requirements
- Ensure the hygiene and safety practices are compliant and upheld as per licensing and legal requirements
- Build our team through (i) new product development in our Bakery, (ii) a rigorous and continuous training and development programme (for both full-time and part-time team members), and (iii) ensuring a strong commitment to and adherence to the Little Farms Group culture and values, as well as industry best practices (including leading by example)
- Own the planning/forecasting of labour costs
**Job Requirements**
- Over 10 years of proven experience as a baker or relevant role
- Great attention to detail and creativity
- Organizing and leadership skills
- Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field
