Job Description:
As a Consolidation and Financial Reporting Manager, you will:
Responsible for the preparation of the business unit’s global consolidated legal financial statements, ensuring appropriate elimination/consolidating entries are posted.
Manage and leverage on consolidation software/tools to enhance reporting capabilities.
Review inter-company mismatches and cash flow reconciliations.
Provide oversight to Accounting units to ensure processes are in place to underpin the financial integrity of the group results including:
Compliance with local laws and applicable Accounting standard; Appropriate internal controls; and Completeness, accuracy and timeliness of local GAAP or IFRS reporting.
Provide guidance to Accounting units to ensure that non routine transactions are accounted for in line with IFRS
Manage the budget and spend of the relevant cost centers within your span of control.
Team management, leadership and development including training and coaching to the regional accounting teams, reinforcing a culture of accountability, continuous improvement excellence and alignment of priorities to business and statutory requirements.
Liaison with group external and internal auditors.
Any ad-hoc projects.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
The jobholder should have a degree in Accounting or relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA).
Between 8 to 10 years of experience in Big 4 Accounting firms. Alternatively, between 4 to 6 years of experience in leading an accounting team including at least 3 to 4 years in a consolidation group within an MNC. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Must have sound technical knowledge (consolidation, acquisition/divestment accounting under IFRS), and strong understanding of controls.
Driven by a sense of curiosity and motivated to understand the business drivers to make sense of the numbers.
Strong eye for detail with a good grasp for impact.
Good organisational and analytical skills.
An independent, resourceful, self-starter and a team player with the right attitude committed to deliver within tight deadlines with accuracy of output.
Comfortable working with the Global teams and taking a hands-on approach while still being able to work at a strategic level and is anticipatory of requirements.
A conceptual thinker; able to grasp big picture and logic of tasks without availability of full details.
Ability to work comfortably in a fluid environment with ambiguity.
A confident and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work across cultures in Asia, Europe and the U.S.A.
