Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily post-fixture operations to ensure voyages and vessels comply with Charter Party (C/P) terms.
  • Manage post-fixture administrative tasks, including agent appointments, vessel movement monitoring, and handling freight-related documentation and payments.
  • Issue Voyage Orders according to documentation instructions and prepare Letters of Indemnity/delivery orders to facilitate timely cargo loading and discharge.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal teams and external parties to monitor vessel performance, ensuring efficient turnaround and adherence to cargo schedules.
  • Review Bills of Lading and loading/discharge documents for accuracy, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Provide support to the Chartering department during pre-fixture negotiations by advising on port-specific restrictions and operational considerations.
  • Prepare and issue fixture notes, freight notes, and charter-hire notes; ensure payments are processed per C/P terms, maintain shipment records, and generate reports as required.
  • Prepare, verify, and negotiate demurrage, laytime, and other post-shipment claims, ensuring timely resolution and closure of voyages.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Maritime, Nautical, or related studies preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in logistics, ship-owning, or shipbroking operations.
  • Strong English and Chinese communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders on operational matters, resolve issues, provide instructions, and monitor shipments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound commercial awareness, with knowledge of various charter parties considered an advantage.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate actions.
