French Language Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced French Language Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering classroom instruction that helps students learn and excel in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

• Delivering engaging and interactive lessons to students of various age groups and ability levels, fostering maximum student engagement and understanding.
• Developing student's abilities and interest through creative activities, including writing, speaking, and listening skills, ensuring students develop a lifelong love of language learning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Graduate & Bachelor in Education (French) with a strong educational background and teaching experience;
• PREFERRED: Masters in the desired Subject with International Teaching Qualification / Certificate that qualifies for accreditation according to IB educational system OR Cambridge Curriculum, demonstrating expertise and commitment to excellence.
• Computer literacy, required to work on software applications and technology tools, enhancing teaching efficiency and effectiveness;
• Fluent English Level: reading, writing, speaking; a professional command of the English language, enabling clear communication and collaboration.
• Strong technology application skills, leveraging digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences;
• Ability to support Blended cum Hybrid Learning, promoting flexibility and adaptability in teaching practices.
• Competent in applying the principles of Digital Pedagogy, staying up-to-date with best practices and innovative approaches.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have:

• 5-8 years of Teaching experience in French Language, with a proven track record of success and student achievement;
• Understanding curriculum standards and Principles of languages, ensuring alignment with educational goals and objectives;
• Creating stimulating lesson plans to foster maximum student engagement and understanding, utilizing effective instructional strategies and materials.
• Encouraging, through the study of texts and through social interaction, an awareness and appreciation of a variety of perspectives of people from diverse cultures, promoting cultural competence and global understanding.
• Enabling students to communicate in the language they have studied in a range of contexts and for a variety of purposes, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Developing international-mindedness through the study of languages, cultures, and ideas and issues of global significance, preparing students for an increasingly interconnected world.
• Developing students' understanding of the relationship between the languages and cultures with which they are familiar, promoting cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
• Adjusting teaching practices to support differentiated learning, catering to the needs of diverse learners and promoting inclusive education.
• Developing students' awareness of the importance of language in relation to other areas of knowledge, recognizing the interconnectedness of language and other subjects.
• Providing students, through language learning and the process of inquiry, with opportunities for intellectual engagement and the development of critical- and creative-thinking skills.
• Fostering curiosity, creativity and a lifelong enjoyment of language learning, inspiring students to explore and appreciate language in all its forms.
• Taking part in the process of mentoring and supervising of the Extended Essay component of the IB for Languages and world studies, supporting student research and academic growth.
• Willing to teach Languages across the age and ability ranges from Cambridge Lower Secondary (Grades 6 - 8) through to IGCSE (Grades 9 & 10), to the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12) and CBSE (6-12).
• Identifying and teaching study skills that will develop students' ability to work both independently and collaboratively, promoting self-directed learning and teamwork.
• Planning activities and worksheets to include approaches to learning, incorporating flexible and adaptive teaching practices.

Child Protection

The teacher must also adhere to the school's child protection policies, which include:

• Safety: Ensure a safe classroom environment, free from hazards, and be aware of emergency protocols;
• Emotional Well-being: Recognize signs of distress, abuse, or other issues that might affect a child's emotional and physical well-being;
• Reporting: Understand and adhere to mandatory reporting laws, ensuring that any concerns about a student's safety or well-being are promptly and properly reported to the appropriate parties;
• Training: Regularly update knowledge on child protection policies and practices;
• Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information related to students unless disclosure is necessary for the safety of the child or as required by law.
