Our business is built on a Sustainable Forest Management Policy. Our operations include a state-of-the-art pulp and paper mill and plantation forests in Riau Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. APRIL employs around 9,000 people directly and provides indirect employment to 90,000. Today, the residential townsite houses up to 7,000 employees and their families.
Position Summary
The candidate will be responsible for providing leading market insights to support commercial business leaders in strategic decision making. Keen understanding of the external market environment, coupled with knowledge of our internal business model and objectives, will allow the candidate to effectively support business decisions.
The ideal candidate should be analytical and passionate about understanding and following commodities markets. S/he should have an open mind set with a "can-do" attitude and be flexible to take on various tasks. Ability to think strategically would be an added advantage.
The role will be based in Singapore and report to the Head of Strategic Planning and Market Intelligence. S/he should be willing to travel overseas for customers' visits & conferences and to our production facility in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities
Industry and competitor analysis
Develop and maintain supply & demand models
Lead competitor benchmarking and analysis
Regular tracking and reporting of market news and competitor pricing
Maintain industry database, ensuring up-to-date information for market analysis
Business analysis and commercial decision making
Support commercial business leaders in product / market sales allocation and pricing decisions in accordance with market changes and internal strategic objectives
Regular report generation and presentation materials
Work with sales, marketing, operations and logistics to generate routine sales analytics reports for market insights while ensuring data accuracy
Prepare presentation materials for industry conferences and customers' meetings
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
Minimum 3 years' experience in market research or analytical roles
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving aptitude
Strong communication skills, good verbal and written English
Ability to work independently and in a team and under pressure
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint a requirement
