Key Role: Senior Data Center Field Technician

Our organization seeks a highly skilled professional to provide expert technical support in data center environments. As a Senior Data Center Field Technician, you will be responsible for executing critical operational tasks including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory control.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site and remote technical support for data center hardware and infrastructure.
  • Execute core data center operations: Rack and stack servers and appliances, Set up cabling and connectivity, Deploy and decommission hardware, Manage inventory (scanning, reconciliation), Troubleshoot offline or downed servers, Handle inbound and outbound shipping tickets.
  • Support network operations and assist in incident response for L1 and L2 issues.
  • Execute hardware/software installations and break/fix tasks.
  • Escalate complex issues and contribute to resolution planning.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely service.
  • Document procedures, incidents, and resolutions accurately.
  • Participate in scheduled shifts or on-call rotations as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data center or technical support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with server, storage, and networking hardware.
  • Proficient in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Capable of producing clear technical documentation and reports.
  • Willingness to travel regionally or globally on short notice.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends if required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Familiarity with data center safety and operational standards.
  • Availability after standard office hours and on weekends is highly preferred.
