Overview

Deputy Manager - Talent Acquisition Growth Markets, APME at HCLTech

The Data Center Center Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our data center facilities, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing data center infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and network issues, and implementing best practices for environmental and power management.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain data center physical and virtual infrastructure to ensure 99.99% uptime.
  • Manage power systems, including UPS, generators, and distribution units.
  • Maintain environmental controls such as cooling, humidity, fire suppression, and security systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and environmental issues promptly.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and upgrades of data center equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for repairs, upgrades, and capacity planning.
  • Develop and update documentation related to data center configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Support and mentor junior staff members as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations, engineering, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental systems.
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, and data center management tools.
  • Certifications such as DCCA, CCNA, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for data center management.
