Job Title: System Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled System Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a critical role in the design and development of complex optical systems.

  • Ongoing Responsibilities:
    • Lead the design and integration of optical systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications and requirements.
    • Define system and subsystem specifications, driving innovation and efficiency in our design processes.
    • Develop and document manufacturing procedures, providing comprehensive guidance for our production teams.
    • Provide training and support to manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive and manage detailed manufacturing requirements and introduction plans during the design concept phase.
    • Cover all aspects of the manufacturing introduction, including design for manufacturability, quality, tooling, training, process documentation, product structure, build process optimization, and facilities requirements.

Requirements:

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
    • Prior experience in optical alignment and characterization is essential.
    • Familiarity with Python and JavaScript would be an added advantage.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in building and testing optical inspection or metrology tools is mandatory.
    • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics and opto-mechanics are required.
    • An effective team player with excellent communication skills is necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, MSc, or PhD in applied optics, applied physics, or related disciplines; preferably with more than 5 years of working experience.
