Job Title: Kitchen Operations Associate

The Kitchen Operations Associate supports the efficient functioning of a commercial kitchen by assisting chefs and cooks with food preparation, cleaning, and organizing tasks. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients to ensure quality control and adherence to health standards.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company hygiene codes and health standards.
  • Wash, disinfect, and properly store cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment to prevent contamination.
  • Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and supplies in designated areas to maintain inventory and organization.
  • Operate various kitchen appliances and instruments, including cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens, to prepare and cook meals efficiently.
  • Participate in programs and projects aimed at improving service quality and employee productivity.
  • Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment to adhere to high-quality standards.
  • Develop new menu items while enhancing existing ones to meet customer preferences.
  • Manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budgetary limits.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles to maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of recipes and meal preparation techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, supplies, and kitchen operations.
  • Basic math skills to calculate inventory, ordering, and financial data.
  • Adaptability to change and flexibility in scheduling and workload.
