What The Role Is
The Instructor will be part of the award-winning Temasek Culinary Academy, a comprehensive Food & Beverage training facility with specialised culinary training facilities such as the Culinary Theatre, Tasting Studio, and Ideation Room.
What You Will Be Working On
Facilitates student learning in best practice culinary skills and knowledge, in keeping with the vision, mission, goals, objectives, policies & procedures of the diploma and organisation
Provides feedback and consultative input in curriculum design, content, assessment, and food preparation, service, operations, and delivery
Prepares, reviews, and improves lesson plans and instructor manuals regularly and as needed
Conducts fair and unbiased student assessments to maximize student learning
Manages the day-to-day operations of baking & pastry production areas to the highest standards
Ensures all assets are operationally ready for daily kitchen activities
Participates in new recipe and menu development
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications in Baking & Pastry or a related field
At least 8 years of industry experience
Knowledge of Food & Beverage Operations and Management
Operational and production skills in culinary and food service, with specialization in Baking & Pastry
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation best practices
Proficiency in classical and modern cuisine (baking & pastries), both theory and practical
Ability to facilitate student learning using best practice educational methodologies
Knowledge of computer software applications for course delivery (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Effective communication and networking skills
Participation in culinary or pastry competitions is an advantage
Passionate about teaching and student learning
Highly meticulous and systematic
Flexible and adaptable to change
Good team player
